The vitamin C is one of the nutrients known for their health benefits. This vitamin is involved in many body processes vital to the body.


Vitamin C deficiency can cause: 

-Wound healing problems



-Bleeding gums

-Pain and swelling in the joints

-Less able to cope infections

-Skin problems like dryness, flaking

-Increase in weight by having a slow metabolism

Bruising, any contusion or small blow

-Hair very dry and unhealthy



Best intake of vitamin C is through food intake. It removes some of the vitamin C in the urine so we should have a daily intake of foods that contain it.

Assorted fruit

Foods that have more vitamin C are:

-Fruits such as orange, grapefruit , tangerine, kiwi, cantaloupe, pineapple, watermelon, blackberries, blueberries, mango, strawberries, papaya , raspberries

-Vegetables such as tomatoes, potatoes, broccoli, cabbage, red pepper, turnip, spinach, other leafy vegetables


These foods should be eaten fresh in different dishes or drinking juice with any of these fruits or vegetables.

It is important to eat a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables in order to have an adequate daily intake of vitamin C.

Nor should we exaggerate consumption of vitamin C as it is harmful to the body.

Vitamin C is necessary for both children and adults to prevent diseases or changes in health.

Your doctor should determine if you need the use of vitamin supplements containing vitamin C.
